Tobias Brenan: “A bit of Jude Bellingham about him”

Perhaps Tobias Brenan was always on Bromley’s radar, but there can be no doubt that Ashley Charles’ injury hastened the need to add another body to the midfield.
Brenan is not a like-for-like replacement for the Ravens’ stricken #4, but his profile will allow Andy Woodman to rejig his midfield to cover Charles’ absence. But make no mistake, the rationale for this signing extends far beyond 26/27.
For an undisclosed fee, Bromley have secured a 20-year-old who can play behind the front man and through the spine of the midfield, with great upside to match his current ability level.
At a young age, he has experience in League One with Wigan Athletic and spent a fruitful time with relegated Harrogate Town in League Two last season, where he chalked up 16 games, 3 goals, and 1 assist. It is worth noting that five of those performances were highly rated by football aggregating app FotMob.
