In May, after guiding Barnet to automatic promotion, Dean Brennan was rewarded with a new three-year contract with the Bees. A month later, he received the National League Manager of the Year award. These achievements did not come out of left field.

Brennan can reflect on his three and a half seasons at Barnet as a period of continuous growth.

This steady and impressive progression is why some pundits are labelling Barnet as promotion candidates in their first season back in League Two since 2017/18.

It's not so much their upward trajectory but the stats they recorded on the way to winning the National League title last season.
