At what point do the noisy neighbours become kings of the street?
If Bromley’s 3-0 win at Priestfield last season wasn’t chastening enough for Gillingham, this loss to their upstart ‘rivals’ from South London/Kent may have been even harder to take.
The foundations for Bromley’s victory were laid in the opening half hour, where they blew the Gills away with three early goals. The home side threatened to rally when they grabbed a goal before half-time, but Ben Thompson’s missile strike early in the second half took the wind from their sails.
