Preview: Crewe Alexandra vs Bromley

It’s not getting any easier for Bromley.
Without a win in five league games, they head to 5th-placed Crewe Alexandra, who are coming off the back of back-to-back victories. But footballing fortunes can change very quickly, as before those back-to-back victories, Crewe themselves had only taken one point from the five games that preceded them. Whisper it quietly, but this season’s League Two looks like one where, bar the current bottom three, everyone can take points off one another.
Last season, Crewe beat Bromley home and away as they won the clash of styles. Under Lee Bell, they are very much a possession-oriented side, and their academy graduates are the heartbeat of everything they do.
Last season’s 4-1 defeat saw Bromley produce a rare performance where no one was at the races. These events are so few and far between that witnessing one was a genuine shock to the system. Andy Woodman may well feel that Crewe are yet to see a complete Bromley performance. If his side can produce one, he will fancy them to earn a victory, which would be a relief after going five games without one.
