Ian Holloway has been at Swindon Town since October 2024, and it would be fair to say he has had quite the impact on the football club.

When he took over, they were a club in freefall, but Holloway quickly reversed the Robins’ direction of travel. In fact, his points-per-game tally from October to the end of last season would have seen Swindon in the play-offs if he had been in charge for the whole season.

This season, to the surprise of very few, following a summer of strong recruitment, Swindon are in the play-off spots and look like one of the stronger sides in the division. This completely tracks with their development and builds on the signs from last season.

Under Ian Holloway in 24/25, they ended the season as the third-highest goal scorers in the division. This season, they’re leading the way. While Andy Woodman preaches clean sheets, Ian Holloway’s gospel is goals-win-games. That probably explains why only six teams have conceded fewer than Bromley, while Swindon are comfortably the league’s highest scoring team.
