MACHEL HEWITT: Will Andy Woodman persuade some of the top performers in Premier League 2 to take a chance on a spell at Hayes Lane.

Barely a day goes by without a fan asking me if Bromley are going to make any moves in the January window. I am now in a position to answer that question, but before I do, it is useful to consider the thought process behind Andy Woodman’s transfer business this month. There is more to this than a simple game of stick or twist.

The primary consideration is that his squad have climbed to the top of League Two with no additions other than those made in the summer. To a man, the players have bedded in, mastered the tactics, and bought into the grand plan, so why risk upsetting that balance? Less is almost always more.

Any prospective squad members would have to buy into the culture and work rate very quickly, and due diligence would have to be done in terms of finding players with the right character, let alone ability. They would also have to accept that they will be supplementary rather than a guaranteed starter. Does such a player exist?

There has been much debate about where Andy Woodman would or should look to strengthen his side, and I suspect that some indication has been given by the recent outgoings.
