Once the decision was made to send Soul Kader out on loan to Hampton and Richmond Borough, it was always likely that Andy Woodman had a Premier League loan move in mind.
Kader had missed a few too many pre-season games due to injury, which meant it would have been too much of a risk to go into the new season with him not up to speed.
The three established strikers at the club, Nicke Kabamba, Marcus Dinanga, and main man Michael Cheek, all scored goals in pre-season, cementing their places in the squad. The only thing missing from the lineup was a nippy striker able to play on the shoulder.
