One of the positives of following Bromley through the non-league pyramid and now to League One is witnessing and recognising a footballer’s journey.

Jacob Mendy first appeared on Bromley’s radar while playing on a semi-pro basis for Wealdstone in the National League, before going on to star for Boreham Wood and Wrexham in successive National League campaigns.

You don’t play for Stuart Maynard, Luke Garrard, Luke Williams, and Phil Parkinson without having something about you. All of those managers have promotions on their CV, so it’s fair to say that Mendy is the calibre of player that ambitious managers are drawn to.

Enter: Andy Woodman.
