So, that’s a wrap on pre-season 2025. Now, football fans up and down the country hover over Pandora’s Box, waiting to see what’s inside.
If you follow your Greek mythology home and away, you’ll know that when Pandora opened the box, she released all of the world’s evil and misery. On Saturday, we lift the lid on own-goals, last-minute defeats, iffy offsides, and dodgy refs. But crucially for Pandora, and football fans, something remains trapped beneath the lid. Hope.
Ahead of a new season, hope unites every football fan. We’ve spent the last few weeks saying things like “it’s only pre-season” and “minutes in the legs,” but as of Saturday, talk ends and action begins.
Do Bromley fans have reason to be hopeful following Saturday’s 1-2 defeat against Millwall? Rather than focus on a single game against Championship opposition, I think it’s better to look at pre-season as a whole.
