With the midweek friendly with Liverpool U21s cancelled, Saturday’s trip to Barnet represented Bromley’s final pre-season fixture.
On the back of a drubbing by QPR the night before, a stronger Bromley squad travelled across London to play the Bees, who are tipped to do well in League Two this season. It may have been a friendly, but Andy Woodman’s side put in a hard shift, and in truth, Barnet more closely reflected the quality of the teams Bromley will face in League One.
A few players’ performances will have given Andy food for thought, which rather begs the question who will be in pole position for a spot in the starting XI when Bromley face Reading at Hayes Lane in the Carabao Cup this Saturday.
