Three games into the EFL showdowns between Gillingham and Bromley, the Gills have yet to win against their ‘Kent’ neighbours.

I wonder if Gills fans look back at the period when their club’s hierarchy were courting Andy Woodman. He opted not to jump ship to the Gills, remaining with his National League Bromley instead. Do they wish the board upped the ante a little?

Since then, Bromley have been the more upwardly mobile of the two sides, while Gillingham have been desperately searching for the missing link to get them out of League Two, both on the pitch and in the dugout.

On paper, current manager Gareth Ainsworth has the credentials to achieve promotion, but if his side are going to fulfil that promise, they need to turn more draws into wins. Ainsworth has overseen 38 League games for the Gills, and his record contains just 6 losses. That’s impressive, but look at the next column and you’ll see 17 draws. Less impressive.
