If there is one thing that reminds you that Bromley are now a League Two side, it is the fact that when the club send players out on loan, it is to teams that were once considered peers. And I’m not talking about Besart Topallaj’s move to Hartlepool here.

In recent seasons, much has been made of the quality in depth that exists under the first team, so perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that Bromley’s B/U21s setup has been turning heads.

For proof, you only need to look as far as their performances in pre-season. Check their results and you’ll see that a youthful Bromley B side drew 0-0 with National League South Chelmsford City, strolled to a 4-1 win away at Whyteleafe of the Combined Counties Premier, secured a 2-2 draw at Cray Wanderers, and then enjoyed a 3-1 win away at Faversham, representatives of the Isthmian Premier and South East divisions respectively.

Yes, these were only pre-season games, but even at a young age, these players can clearly cope with the rough-and-tumble dished out by experienced non-league side.
