When Machel spoke to me about this new venture, ‘From Bromley with love’, I knew straight away that I wanted to be involved in some way. Having been part of the Bromley fanzine scene since the days of ‘Down The Lane’ and ‘Back to Nowhere’ in the late 80s and early 90s, I’ve always enjoyed writing and reading fans' views about Bromley and the wider football world.

After contributing to a few fanzines, I started the ‘Two Footed Tackle’ fanzine in November 1996, which ran for eighty-eight issues until September 2019. TFT started as a response to the official club fanzine at the time, ‘Fans Say’, which released a few articles that I took exception to. I wanted to give an alternative and independent viewpoint to supporters.

The initial idea had been to cover other South London football clubs in addition to Bromley. But within a few issues, except for a few pieces on local basketball and Cray Wanderers, the fanzine was focused primarily on Bromley Football Club.
