MACHEL HEWITT: Check the League Two stats tables and you’ll see that Rovers currently rank last for goals per match, second for most goals conceded per match, and have registered the fewest shots on target per match.

It is always important to keep receipts.

On July 29th, I had a conversation with a fellow Bromley supporter about a podcast episode that had recently aired on the EFL journalism platform Not The Top 20. In the episode, they pointed out that ten of the last twelve teams relegated from League One had finished in the bottom half of League Two the following season.

With this season’s exiles in mind, I said, “Bristol Rovers are the most likely bet.” But before I give myself flowers, my fellow supporter’s response was, “I reckon Crawley.”

As we approach the Boxing Day fixtures, barring a wild reversal of fortunes, it looks like both of us were right.
